is the first in the “Take 30” video
series on polymer (clay).  Suggested
jewelry projects are shown as
examples, however, the video is
focused only on the technique used in
the creation of surface design.

stamps.  All the details for constructing
the surface design are included in the
video. Several finished pieces are
shown to illustrate the variety of
possibilities for using this surface
technique.  A printed card is also
included as a desktop reference.
This video is the first in the “Take 30” series. This series of videos run approximately 30
minutes.  Instruction is geared toward an audience that is already familiar with the art
medium. It does not include basic conditioning and curing techniques for polymer clay.  
Future videos will include a general introduction to working with polymer, projects with
polymer clay surface design and additional techniques.

This fast paced video is filmed in Barbara’s home studio with a classroom atmosphere.  
Barbara A. McGuire is a nationally acclaimed artist whose diverse talents include works in
polymer clay, painting and jewelry design.  She has written 10 books on design and
instruction and has developed stamps, templates and molds for artists working in polymer and
metal clay.  Barbara has appeared as a regular guest of the popular Carol Duvall show.  Her
work reflects a strong influence of traditional design incorporating innovative materials and
collected artifacts. She lives in Buford, Georgia and teaches throughout the country at
shows, workshops, stores and in her home studio.
